Do IITians really outperform non-IITians ?

Is an IIT Tag directly linked to performance?

IIT Tag is not directly linked to performance....

Interest in the subject is directly linked to performance....

IITians basically have a research attitude and that make a BIG difference when compared with non-IITians.
But if proper circumstances are given to non-IITians then they too can develop this skill.

IITian speaking.
Not always, but generally yes.
Generally IITians are placed in same company as non-IITians with higher salaries. However this is just the initial placement. If you are talented enough, you could be bossing IITians withing 2 years.

hey anonymous (IITian speaking...) - I differ from you. I agree that there are few companies that take both IITians and non-IITians and offer a differential package. But I think most of the companies fall in the other lot, where they pay the same package, irrespective of the college u come from.

That said, I agree that a company that has a handsome offer may have more IITians than non-IITians.
